We are excited to announce an open call for artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, and individuals to submit their proposals for the celebration of rebirth through the arts at the historic Art Factory. This event aims to highlight historical adaptive-reuse, renaissance, and resurgent art.
We welcome everyone to share their creativity, experiences, and stories. Whether you are an artist, filmmaker, curator, gallery owner, entrepreneur, or community leader, we encourage you to submit your presentation or installation proposals before the deadline.
Each participant will have the opportunity to activate a different space within the Art Factory, building upon the creative energy and moving towards openness. This experience will also include a natural High-Line - Upper Raceway Sculpture Trail Walk to the National Park, weather permitting. Visitors can enjoy a delicious coffee or lunch at the Brooklyn-style Hamilton Cafe and embark on an app-guided tour where each stop presents an inspiring opportunity for personal narratives.
The Art Factory offers a variety of spaces, including galleries, artist studios, cafes, classrooms, and pop-up shops. This summer, we will showcase various films and audio-video recordings that highlight the past, present, and adaptive reuse highlights with the release of the movie: " If Bricks Could Talk". We encourage various art disciplines, such as installation art that creates site-specific pieces showcasing the hauntingly gorgeous 19th-century textile mill architecture. Additionally, we will have an art fair model where established galleries and arts organizations can fill Mercado industrial spaces with representations of their work. Independent artists and curators may also form groups, and permanent galleries are welcome. Designers, photographers, filmmakers, storytellers, poets, musicians, entrepreneurs, and historians can showcase their talent in diverse ways.
All the artwork conceived will be displayed and accessible to all along the walking tour, and community members are invited to participate in developing, selecting, or executing the work.
